When Meeting King Henry VIII
Dads: Drop to your knees or show off your well turned legs with a continental bow.
Mums: Curtsy as low as you can go and stay bowed until the King has passed.
Oliver's and Elsie's: Doff your caps or even throw them in the air.
We visited Hampton Court Palace recently and got to meet an Henry VIII-alike.
It was a wonderfully surreal experience.
You're actually in his home, in all it's Tudor glory, and there he is (sort of), in all his pomp.
Oliver was speechless. Elsie was wide eyed. I was in awe.
And thankfully for Britt, her curtsy was suitably impressive and she left with her head
firmly attached to her shoulders. Relief and smiles all round.
Not wanting to risk the wrath of King Henry, more positive posts and details about
Hampton Court Palace will certainly follow.
